Snacks

Pictures of various Japanese snack foods I've obtained at various times so far.

Chocoball! Strawberry flavoured chocolate balls with puffed rice inside.

Poifull jellybeans! These beans are just full of poi.

Sakusaku Panda!
It has a comic on the back of the package.
They're cute little chocolate covered biscuits.
They're a little creepy-looking from the back.

Special edition Pocky! Featuring guest pastry chef Hironobu Tsujiguchi... I guess?
They're chocolate and also raspberry champagne flavoured.

I also tried consomme flavoured potato chips. Consomme is a common flavouring for salty snacks here. I've seen consomme-flavoured french fries and popcorn too.

Onigiri is sort of like a snack food, too. There's a shelf for these at every convenience store.

Some engineering ingenuity must have gone into the packaging design. The plastic keeps the seaweed from touching the rice until you unwrap it, preventing it from getting soggy.

  1. Magic onigiri packaging. I don't know how rice suddenly was enough for a lunch once it was put in a triangle
