North Arashiyama

On Sunday we took a bus up to see a bunch of small art studios. Mostly pottery, but there was also a woodcrafter, a glasswork studio, and a textile shop.

These are pottery sets of the Seven Lucky Gods.

There were several large peices like these depicting landscapes.
I thought some of them looked like futuristic battleships.

Zodiac animals.

Here are some animal clocks from the glass studio.
Dad bought an owl magnet.

Owls, owls, owls.
 Everyone is fond of owls/
Except for mice and shrews/ and Simon Cowells
 Squish pig

Crystal glaze!

The wood studio, Brown Box, was chock full of totes adorbs things, like these fat lil birbs.
 Fat lil borbs.
 Pikas and chipmunks.
I think these are for holding business cards.

Look at these cute little stools!

It's art.

We got a pretty good view of fall colours here, too.

We saw a gallery of paintings by Mika Kawano, an artist of some repute.
 Her stuff is kinda freaky.

Park shrubbery.

We had Indian food for lunch! I had been missing this.
