Biei and Kita-Furano

On Monday we went out to Biei. The visitor's centre had cute cookies!
We rented some bikes and cycled out to the Blue Lake. Look, the water here is a little blue already.
It was about a 20km ride from the station.
There was a lot of great scenery on the bike path.

And here's the Blue Lake! It's very blue.

 It was kind of fairytale-like.

It started raining lightly while we were there.

The blue colour comes from aluminum runoff.

After the Blue Lake, we cycled down to Kita-Furano to see the flower fields.
 The most ornamental of cabbage.

It's too late in the year for lavender, but the autumn fields are more colourful.

 Just one sunflower.

Here are the mascots of Farm Tomita, Roll-chan and Roll-kun.

Up next: the trick art museum.
