Kaiten sushi on the way to Obihiro

The annual HAJET Autumn meeting is this weekend in Obihiro. I wasn't sure I'd be attending, since Obihiro is pretty far from Wassamu, but Queena was getting a ride there from Asahikawa and she got me in on it!

Max and Melissa are a JET couple from the UK on their second year here. This is all of us at a conveyor belt sushi restaurant.

The restaurant had a robot by the entrance that lets you know when tables are available and lets you place orders ahead of time. His name is Pepper-kun.

Here's our final pile of plates. Well, it worked out to under 1000 yen per person, so not bad!

And here's a Rilakkuma steamed bun in a conbini. Almost too cute to eat.

After dinner it was about a three hour drive to Obihiro. We passed the time by singing in the car. Queena had a playlist of the 2000s top charts. Workshops will start tomorrow morning.

In other news, here's me in the town newspaper again, teaching the junior English class last Saturday.

And here's a worksheet photo posted by Navid. This student clearly knows where it's at.
