Kyoto - bamboo forest and Shijo-Dori

Today we took the bullet train out to Kyoto and went up to Saga-Arashiyama for the bamboo grove.
It was a very touristy area. They had these ice creams with thingies in, looking like Christmas trees.
 A row of cute Jizo.

 Here's the bamboo.

 Cat bags for sale.

 A bunch of stacked stones.

 Co-dependent, co-pain.

Tosa shitenno - the Big Four of Tosa.

We got lost for a while.

 I saw a heron.

Boo Boo Park (it's a parking lot). Boo boo is the noise a pig makes.

We eventually managed to find our way to Tenryuji Temple.

Raked gravel, like a zen garden.
It had a big for real garden too.

Here you can see some of the young bamboo shoots starting to grow.

 One red tree.

 Frog coin pond.
 I like this tree.

 Big metal demon heads.

 An umbrella store.
 Big soft veggies.
Super cute donuts at Krispy Kreme, on our way to Shijo-Dori.
And some baked goods at Sizuya. Those are koi donuts at the top middle.
The green ones had funny faces.
Kirby goods at Tokyu Hands. Butter Building, Yogurt Yard, Grape Gardens.
 Some elaborate pop-up cards.

 The Sanrio store.

At least these shirts tell you what they say. I like "I Have a Few Problems".
Undertale gachapon! Who could the secret characters be?
Cat cookies that hang on the cup, just like a real cat.
 A big omurice.
 We had kaiten-sushi for dinner.
 The jeans store.
 Owl and bengal cat cafe.
This living statue has a pretty good costume.
Starting to get dark over Shijo Bridge.
Yasaka Shrine, lit up at night.
Some night lights at Hokanji Temple.

It's too dark to see the giant Buddha.

We stayed out a bit too late tonight.
