Ice World at Susukino

Susukino Blvd gets in on the action with four blocks of ice carvings.
Starting out strong with "Supple woman".
 The polar bear family.

Hinamatsuri, a holiday in March, also called Girl's Day.
The phoenix is a popular motif.
Here comes a bunch of product placement.

"Hunter of the moonlit night". This title was well-translated!
 This one, not so much.

Nice to meet you, Kumahon.
Wabi-sabi, a concept in Japanese aesthetic centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection.
 Another phoenix.

 A lionfish.
This one's a firebird! Totally not a phoenix!

 Illumination road.

 A bunch of company mascots.

This is the hands-on area.

"Moment". The fish in the crane's beak is impressive.
"Reincarnation". I'm not sure if this is a kirin or just a mish-mash of various animal body parts.
"InoShikaCho", a card combination in Hanafuda utilizing the boar, deer, and butterfly.
"Trinity". But there's only one.
Aloha from Hawaii.
"Shadow of the bird munefusamitsusui". Googling munefusamitsusui (because seriously, what the heck) led me to the Wikipedia page for the extinct Hawaiʻi ʻōʻō.
"Big horn". That's one buff sheep.
 "Planet Earth".
The illuminated moon.
 HORSES
 "Green frog."
"Snake".
"Sapporo ramen & Sapporo beer".
 Bison vodka.
 "Shining dragon".
 "Seahorse".
"Target".
It's the Nikka whiskey man! This product placement is made more interesting by the presence of a dragon.
A big ice wall full of seafood.
This hotel had an ice sculpture of their own in front.
As did the HBC (Hokkaido Broadcasting Company) building.
It was a fun two days in Sapporo. But I had to get back home Sunday night for different plans on Monday.
