On Saturday we went to the electric town.
There's anime everywhere, I love it.
This weekend just happened to be Sega Fes 2019! And it has an exhibition hall for Atlus, one of my favourite video game companies! I didn't even know about it when we planned this trip. I just got lucky, I guess.
Kids were lining up to play the Mega UFO catcher.
It seemed pretty easy for them to just grab what they wanted.
Here's a giant Sega Saturn controller.
There was also a Sakura Wars exhibition.
Here's the Atlus hall.
To think this huge video game franchise all started with a schlocky sci-fi novel called Digital Devil Story.
Persona: a spinoff series of Shim Megami Tensei, itself a spinoff of Megami Tensei.
Persona Dancing and Persona Q, spinoffs of spinoffs of spinoffs.
Etrian Odyssey and Catherine are also present.
A shrine to Decarabia. He's still waiting for Forneus.
Jack Frost, the mascot of Atlus. Hee-ho!
Video games in the 90s sure had style.
Good ol' Mara, the best and STRONGEST demon.
Fans of anime or games can instantly identify their school uniform design.
I think Shujin has the classiest uniforms.
It's Anne Takamaki! I was actually expecting to see more cosplayers, but having only one made her stand out more.
The serene portrait of Sayuri.
King Kamoshida, history's greatest villain.
Atlus-themed ema tablets.
When we left the exhibition, we mostly browsed through retro game and anime merch shops.
Seeing all these great figurines makes me continue to wonder why anyone buys Funko Pops.
Lauren got her strawberry daifuku.
Chunky sweet is not too sweet.
A Monogatari themed slot machine.
These desserts are so cute, you guys.
Kinnikuman! ULTIMATE MUSCLE
We went to the Gundam Cafe for lunch.
Lauren got a Haro latte.
This meal is based on the Erupting God Finger.
Here's Haro, the cute Gundam mascot.
Super Potato turned out to be a game shop. You wouldn't know from the name.
Fox McCloud,
Mario,
Solid Snake.
Taking pictures with Sonic.
More Sega Fes pictures.
Sakura Wars figurines.
Original Kazuma Kaneko illustrations.
A mini Persona concert.
I'll miss you, anime land.
So jelly of Sega fest. They're gay for the Saturn there
